More jobs created by Ford in Michigan
According to President Donald Trump, Ford Motor Company plans on investing more resources into 3 of its Southeastern Michigan assembly plants, which in turn is expected to generate a large number of new jobs and economic growth in the area. Although Ford has not released a formal announcement regarding this project, The Detroit News has issued the following release:
“The Dearborn-based automaker will announce investments at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Flat Rock Assembly Plant and its Romeo Engine Plant, according to the sources who agreed to speak only on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.”
This would mark the second investment into the Flat Rock plant, with the first investment totaling $700 million. Although the exact figures for jobs created and economic output hasn’t been disclosed, one of the sources from The Detroit News labeled it as “significant”.
The recent boost in the Detroit automotive industry, paired with the economic growth surrounding the downtown Detroit property developments has created a significant amount of buzz amongst employers, residents, and investors locally, and worldwide.
