Our Team consists of in-office staff, field inspectors and estimators, along with many contractors and maintenance technicians with a variety of capabilities.
Michael is the founder and President of Strategy Properties. Michael started his first company at the age of 19, while still a student athlete on a full scholarship to play basketball at the University of Detroit Mercy. Following two years of NCAA tournament play, Michael transferred to the University of Michigan to pursue a degree in Business Management. His natural-born passions in business have fueled his competitive drive to set high standards for himself and his companies.
Strategy Properties, Inc was formed in 2003 (under the name Jordan Ventures, Inc) with a primary focus on the construction of new homes throughout Wayne County. Michael’s vision further developed when he came across opportunities to invest in different segments of the real estate market. Michael began to take advantage of opportunities with lower calculated risks coupled with high returns, such as mortgage note purchasing and the sale of homes that his company renovated.
While in the process, Michael began to buy packages of properties in and around the City of Detroit, which he converted into economical, high quality homes. Due to an increase in demand for quality homes in Detroit, and the number of home buyers looking for residual income, Michael realized the tangibility of Detroit homes as secure investments. His continued investment into the city’s neighborhoods and building of a trusted team of colleagues led Strategy Properties to become a key provider of rental homes in Detroit and Southeast Michigan. Michael’s desires are to continue the development of investment homes and to evolve with the ever changing economy and housing market, into the renovation and construction of residential, multi family, senior housing and commercial projects.
Michael was born and raised in Livonia MI, and currently resides in Dearborn, with his beautiful wife, who works as a Medical Doctor at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and their daughter. Michael hopes that through his business ventures, and the continued success of Strategy Properties, he will continue to grow through his non-profit organizations structured to service those in need.
Anita serves as the controller for Strategy Properties, holding a pivotal role in the continued success of the company. Born and raised in Detroit, she has a dedication to the rehabilitation and restructure of the city and outlying areas. Her education includes academic work from both Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. With 18 years of real estate experience, Anita has held an assortment of positions in the field, all of which culminate into her ability to perform multiple tasks as controller of the company. Anita currently resides in Livonia, where she lives with her 2 sons and husband. Anita enjoys reading and the Michigan seasons up north.
Jeanette, has been a member of Strategy Properties since the inception of the company, and she serves as the Chief Purchasing Assessment manager. Jeanette is a licensed broker, and her responsibilities at Strategy Properties range from assessing possible purchases, maintaining offers to review with the company president, and managing property offerings. Jeanette brings over ten years of real estate experience to the Strategy Team, and her understanding of market trends of suburban and urban communities, along with extensive experience as a processor greatly contributes to the growth and development of the company. In her free time, Jeanette enjoys spending time with her four beautiful children, long distance running and reading.
Al currently serves as the Property Specialist at Strategy Investment Group, bringing years of experience in customer relations to the Team. Al has experience evaluating and marketing a variety of property types including multifamily, mixed-use, and development sites in Metro Detroit. Al is also responsible for executing the company’s exclusive listings and facilitating business development initiatives in Metro Detroit. Al advises investors on strategies for single asset acquisition, portfolio accumulation and stabilization, increasing monthly passive income and timed, future portfolio disposition. Al enjoys playing all sports, he was a multi-sport all-state Student Athlete. Al now is an avid golfer and enjoys following all sports. With a background in law enforcement, Al also enjoys going to the gym and firing range.
Sean works in the purchasing and construction departments at Strategy Properties. He works to locate homes in and around the City of Detroit for purchase and renovation. As a licensed real estate agent, Sean is the “Short Sale Specialist” of the team and his experiences in real estate build off of his beginnings as a licensed and insured contractor. Sean also assesses renovations and works as a liaison between outsourced contractors and the in-house construction team. His greatest contributions to the company stem from his expertise in neighborhood assessment and property acquisition, along with his extraordinary ability to contribute to the fluidity of the Strategy team.
Sal works in the construction department for Strategy Properties, with an emphasis on quality control for the renovation projects on acquired properties. His diverse background in Construction Management ranges from commercial to residential ventures, with many of his completed projects falling in the ballpark of million dollar budgets. With substantial hands on experience in multiunit renovations, and an array of degrees including a Bachelors of Science in Building and Construction Management, Sal brings an innovative spirit and an “outside of the box” mindset to the Strategy team. His skills are most often utilized during final inspections, and Sal’s ability to ensure all construction projects meet the strict Strategy criteria is second to none. Sal currently lives in Troy with his wife, and in his free time he enjoys swimming and playing recreational soccer.
Dina is a key member of the Strategy Properties team, working as an administrator, leasing manager, utilities and city inspections. Dina’s unique background, coupled with her impressive history working with stocks and bonds adds to the diversity and complexity of projects managed by the Strategy team. Among her responsibilities with Strategy, Dina coordinates all city inspections, and court case violations. Dina is the head of leasing, and all prospective tenants are screened and approved by her. As a breast cancer survivor, Dina is extremely self-motivated and has a passion for her career that greatly contributes to the function and confidence of the team. Dina enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, and also enjoys all of the outdoor activities encompassed by Michigan summers.
Ed is the president of Swad & Company, a CPA firm located in Livonia, Michigan. As the official CPA for Strategy, Ed has developed a very close relationship with the team, overseeing and providing master insight to quarterly accounting statements and company finances. Tax planning and return preparation fall under the umbrella of his many services to the team. Ed graduated from Michigan State University, and has practiced as a CPA for over 25 years. As a frequent conference and seminar speaker, he takes pride in educating business owners and controllers on the many financial aspects of owning and running a successful business. Currently, Ed lives in Northville with his wife and two children and enjoys spending free time with his family.
Jim works in the accounting department of Strategy Properties, dealing with financial reporting and bookkeeping. His duties include gathering information on the performance of our private investors’ holdings and providing this information to the company president and controller. Jim is tasked with one of the most important aspects of profit for the company, collecting rent and ensuring that if evictions are necessary, they are completed with the minimal amount of damage possible. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting. He has lived in Metro Detroit his whole life, and feels strongly connected to the rehabilitation of the city due to his role in providing housing to his community.
Beth Douglass serves as the Administrator for the sales team at Strategy Properties. She handles inter-departmental portfolio management as well as sales lead cultivation. She is a licensed Real Estate Agent in Michigan and has performed other distinct tasks such as evaluation of properties pre-purchase along with negotiation offers. She is a specialist in marketing, putting together all sales sheets and marketing portfolios for clients. Beth was born and raised in Metro Detroit and resides in South Lyon with her 4 children. Beth enjoys practicing yoga and hiking the many beautiful trails in her community.
Moe works in the construction department, in the assignment and assessment of ongoing projects. As a licensed inspector, he ensures that all work is completed to the highest of safety and quality measures. His diverse knowledge in residential building certifications helps to keep a high approval rating among city inspectors for our properties. Moe is also present for all tenant move-ins, ensuring expectations are met, and that tenants are happy with their new home. With a Business degree from Wayne State University, he is proud to commit himself to the revitalization of the local economy. He is a lifelong Detroit sports fan, and believes that the Detroit Lions will win a Super Bowl in his lifetime.
Vytas plays an essential role in documenting photos of all of the properties acquired by the team, and the construction projects. He also is responsible for final walk-throughs of a property, prior to tenant move in, along with assisting tenants in the move-in process. As the official runner, he is responsible for ensuring all documents for purchase and sale of properties are available when needed, along with keeping city certificates and utility bills in order.
