Bullish Trends for Detroit
According to a recent report by the Kresge Foundation, a national foundation that works to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grantmaking and social investing and community development in Detroit, 71% of business leaders believe that Detroit is a good place to invest in. The study investigated the comeback of Detroit following the 2014 bankruptcy, which surprisingly enough only 16% of business leaders actually are aware of the fact that the bankruptcy is over now.
Sandy Baruah, who is the president of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce commented on the reports that getting over the bankruptcy that the City has filed and completed is a crucial step in moving forward. She acknowledged the forward progress that the bankruptcy filing did for the city, and that the bankruptcy was ““part of a broader set of tools that were employed to kind of reformat and put the city on a trajectory to success”. The overall picture is clear–bankruptcy has catapulted the city to a great potential of success, and the greatest improvements are yet to be seen.
